PITCH

Using your VR headset, immerge yourself in a world of magic for this soothing experience. 

Play without controllers, using your hands to help a little spider get to the moon : move objects, weave webs and form bridges to overcome the obstacles.

MY WORK

As a Level designer

Our challenge is to teach the basics of VR using hand recognition. 
"Show don't tell: I have created levels that teach only by observation how to move and catch objects in order to solve environmental puzzles. 
I use a EVC framework to check the player's knowledge and then challenge him/her.​

Layout creation

​

  • Blockout and balancing.

  • Prototyping of modular levels using the tools provided by the programmers.

  • Discussions and Iterations with project members to best meet the constraints.

  • Environmental storytelling.

  • Integration of the levels in the engine.

 
Documentation 

Write Level Design documents such as

​

  • Level Design intentions.

  • Level objectives and pacing.

  • Game Flow chart.

  • Levels overall structure.​

  • Rational Level Design.

 

Level Designer Tools

In order to save time I asked our Gameplay Programmer to make some tools that would allow me to be more efficient when creating my levels :

​

  • Hand / object detection tool to create puzzles

  • Tool for snapping items to a position when the player moves a gameplay-related object near the desired area.

  • Respawn zone for interactive elements if the player throws them too far.

  • Visual feedback of checkpoints order.

​
